Justin Rose claimed his first top-two finish in a PGA tour event with a share of second place at the Texas Open.

The 26-year-old finished alongside Dean Wilson and Anthony Kim on 12-under-par 268, three behind Eric Axley, who had never managed a top 20 finish before.

Axley, 33, followed two rounds of 63 with a final round of one-over-par 71, but still finished on fifteen-under.

Rose had twice finished third in American tournaments, in last year's Buick Championship and Funai Classic.
