McIlroy into Irish Close decider |  Rory McIlroy won the West of Ireland earlier this year |
Holywood teenage sensation Rory McIlroy is through to the final of the Irish Amateur Close Championship at Westport. The 16-year-old Sullivan Upper schoolboy defeated fellow Ulsterman Connor Doran from Banbridge in the first semi-final by 4 and 3. McIlroy will now face Galway's Eddie McCormack in the final after he defeated Angus McAllister 3 and two. McIlroy has already pocketed the West of Ireland title at Rosses Point earlier this season.
