Davis inches closer to Tour card
Brian Davis
Davis has been in excellent form as he bids for his card
England's Brian Davis birdied five of the final eight holes to take the lead after the penultimate round of the PGA qualifying tournament.

Davis, who is seeking his first PGA Tour card, shot a 68 to open up a six-shot advantage.

Greg Owen is one of four players tied for second place going into Monday's final round after a 72.

But a 73 from Phillip Price leaves him tied for 17th place with only the top 30 finishers securing their cards.

Davis said: "I played awesome. I am very happy and disappointed at the same time because I missed a few three-footers.

"Otherwise, I could be eight or nine shots clear of the field right now. I left a few out there on the last few holes."
