Sorenstam shares three-way lead
Annika Sorenstam
Sorenstam hit four birdies and an eagle in her 67
Sweden's Annika Sorenstam scorched to a first-round five-under 67 to share the lead of the ADT Tour Championship at Trump International, West Palm Beach, Florida.

The world number one, chasing a 13th victory of the year, finished tied with her South Korean playing partner Se Ri Pak and American Solheim Cup player Meg Mallon.

A host of players are locked two shots behind on three under, including Australia's Karrie Webb and France's Patricia Meunier-Lebouc.

Sorenstam said: "I just feel so in control of my game at the moment. It's great."

The British quartet suffered a mixed day, with Laura Davies and Mhairi McKay the best-placed on one over 73, while Catriona Matthew shot 75 and Janice Moodie compiled 80.

Lost ball

Davies, the 1998 champion, was hampered by a quadruple bogey on the long ninth after hitting three shots into water.

"I think I'll be dropping balls out of water in my sleep," said Davies, who made up for her outward 40 with 33 on the way back.

"It is a shame when one hole ruins an otherwise good day."

McKay, meanwhile, ran up a six at the short fifth after her ball was lost up a tree.

"That's the fourth time that I've lost a ball that way," she said.

Pak - aiming for a sixth win of the year - and Mallon both dropped shots via a bunker at the long 18th.
