Pepper's season over
Dottie Pepper
Pepper has won 17 tournaments in her career
Dottie Pepper will miss the Solheim Cup and will not play again this season because of injury.

The American, who has 17 tournament wins on the LPGA Tour to her credit, has not fully recovered from the shoulder surgery she suffered in March.

"Withdrawing from the Solheim Cup was one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make, but at the same time, it was also very easy," Pepper said.

"I simply would not be able to represent my team and my country the way I feel I could.

"My shoulder just isn't ready for the daily grind of tour golf yet."

She will be replaced in the US Solheim Cup team by the player placed 11 in the standings on deadline day, 1 September.
