| Wednesday, 3 July, 2002, 13:44 GMT 14:44 UK Daly withdraws from Scottish Open John Daly will return for The Open at Muirfield John Daly has withdrawn from next week's Scottish Open at Loch Lomond because he wants to spend more time with his children. Daly finished joint third at last year's event and was one of the biggest names scheduled to line up at this year's tournament.. The 36-year-old told the European Tour on Wednesday that he was withdrawing to spend time with his two daughters from a previous marriage, Shynah Hale, 10, and seven-year-old Sierra Lynn. But he will appear at The Open at Muirfield the following week. Daly has begun to recapture some of the form that saw him win The Open at St Andrews in 1995, winning his first event in six years at last year's BMW International in Munich. He was ninth at the Benson and Hedges International at The Belfry in May and has improved to 46th in the world after dropping outside the top 500. | See also: 04 Mar 02 | Scotland Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Golf stories now: Links to more Golf stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
