Snow is causing disruption to the sporting calendar

Snow and freezing temperatures are continuing to affect the sporting schedule across Britain.

Tuesday's Hartlepool against Yeovil and Notts County versus Bournemouth FA Cup second-round ties have been postponed.

The FA Cup second-round replay between Lincoln City and Hereford is also off, as are the Football League Trophy semi-finals at Bristol Rovers and Tranmere.

Wednesday's National Hunt meeting at Leicester racecourse was called off and Fontwell's Tuesday card soon followed.

Thursday's meetings at Taunton and Ludlow also fell victim to the weather because of frozen courses.

Leicester's clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson said: "We are forecast another hard frost tonight [Monday], possibly getting down to minus 9C, and we aren't due to get above freezing until Thursday afternoon."

Scottish football has been hit hard again with several matches scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday postponed.
