The winners will be announced at the Villa Marina on Thursday, 9 April.

The nominations for the 2009 Isle of Man Bank Sports Awards have been announced with 41 individuals and four teams making the shortlist.

The quality of the nominations reflects another exceptional year for Manx sport with many athletes making a big name for themselves on the world stage.

Last year the best sportsman award was shared between cyclist Mark Cavendish and Enduro rider David Knight.

Snowboarder Zoe Gillings scooped the sportswoman of the year award.

All three are again amongst the nominations for this year's awards.

There will also be awards for the Manx sports ambassador, Under-21 sportsman and woman, disability sportsperson, club official, coach and best team.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Villa Marina on Thursday, 9 April.
