Jersey are undecided on which bid to back for the 2013 Island Games |
Jersey's Island Games Association is undecided on whether to vote for Bermuda or Canada's Prince Edward Island as 2013 Island Games hosts. "They are so close I wouldn't like to say or bet on either one being voted for at our next committee meeting," said Jersey IGA chairman Steve Jacobs. Bermuda is the preferred bid of the International Island Games Association. Whoever is chosen, it will be the first time that the games will have been held outside Europe. Eleven of the 14 sports proposed by the two islands are the same, with Bermuda offering squash, sailing and shooting compared to judo, bowls and table tennis by Prince Edward Island. But with Jersey having been more successful in the three events offered by Bermuda over the years it may well be that the island goes along with the IIGA recommendation.
