Nigeria have already played a friendly game with Saudi Arabia, in Austria |
Nigerian fans in England are to miss out on a chance to see the Super Eagles before they set off to the World Cup in South Africa. Their warm-up match against Colombia is to go ahead in Milton Keynes on Sunday, but will be played behind closed doors. MK Dons stepped in as hosts after both West Ham United and Luton Town said they could not stage the game. The club say that because of an existing booking there will be no public access to the match. Nigeria's build-up to the World Cup has been disrupted by several problems - including the cancellation of other friendly matches and the abandonment of a planned training camp in London. Meanwhile, the Super Eagles began life under Lars Lagerback with a 0-0 draw against Saudi Arabia in an international friendly in Austria on Tuesday. Swede Lagerback named a team of mostly fringe players, with only centre-back Joseph Yobo and midfielder Kalu Uche the likely first team starters in the line-up.
