Van der Vaart trained with the Dutch squad on Thursday |
Holland coach Marco van Basten is confident all his injured players will be fit for their World Cup opener against Serbia and Montenegro. Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart and Gio van Bronckhorst have been struggling with ankle injuries, while Philip Cocu had a thigh problem.
However, Van Basten said: "Van der Vaart had his second training session with the squad and was fine.
"Sneijder made good progress and will not be a problem for Sunday."
Van der Vaart and Van Bronckhorst joined in the team training session on Thursday, while Sneijder and Cocu trained separately.
Sneijder and Cocu are expected to be named in Holland's starting line-up on Sunday
Van Basten put midfielders Nigel de Jong and Stijn Schaars on standby but will make a decision on whether to dispense with them on Friday.
