Holland coach Marco van Basten believes playmaker Rafael van der Vaart will be fit for the start of the World Cup. The 22-year-old will miss Holland's final warm-up match against Australia on Sunday with an ankle injury, but is not thought to be sidelined for long.
"Rafael is doing fine right now but it wouldn't be wise to use him on Sunday," Van Basten said.
"He is a player with specific qualities and will have to earn his spot in the team during the training sessions."
