Reading FC manager Frank Rodriguez says he is proud of his side after their impressive form in the FA Women's Premier League.

The Royals, who were promoted to last term, lie in fourth place with two wins and two draws from seven games.

Rodriguez told BBC Berkshire: "Our season is going fantastically well. It's taken us time to adjust but we've gained some momentum.

"We're now used to the speed and strength of the league."

Reading were knocked out of the Women's Premier League cup last weekend, losing 2-1 West Ham in the fifth round.

But Rodriguez is not overly concerned by the defeat and insists his main target is league survival.

"Our first objective is to stay in the league, if we can finish mid table then we've been really successful. But it's a really tight league so it will be a challenge," he said.

"We've got Barnet next and it's a big game for us. We beat them away on the opening day of the season so we want to beat them again," he said.
