Coventry City conceded twice late on as they suffered a 2-0 defeat in the County Cup final against Aston Villa.
Kim Farrow headed Villa in front after 73 minutes, before Natalie Gibson doubled their lead moments later.
City manager Paul Cudby told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire: "While it is always disappointing to lose, we gave a terrific account of ourselves.
"We can take a huge amount of pride and hopefully our players want to use this to kick on."
Coventry are not in action again until May when they face Loughborough Students.
