Argyle ladies aim for Premier tie

Plymouth Argyle ladies are just one game away from the one of the biggest matches in their history.

They will go to Premier League Leeds Carnegie if they beat Forest Green Rovers in their re-arranged FA Women's Cup third round tie on Sunday.

Leeds got to the final last season where they lost 4-1 to Arsenal.

"If we go through to the next round the Leeds match will be one of the biggest matches the club has been involved in," said Argyle ladiers manager Kev Rose.

But Rose is aware that his side, who are fifth in the South West Combination, must first beat Forest Green, who are two places above them in the table.

And it will not be easy as Forest Green handed Argyle their only defeat so far in their four league matches when they beat them 3-1 in September.

"We have to put in a good performance this Sunday to get a result against Forest Green. The squad is in good shape and we have the quality here in the club to do just that," Rose said.

The two sides were meant to have played on Sunday, 14 December at Bolitho Park but heavy rain meant the pitch was unplayable.
