Lincoln Ladies went a point top of the Northern Division of the Women's Premier League after beating previous leaders Sunderland 2-1 at home.
Goals from Sophie Krivinskas and Carla Ward were enough for Lincoln, with Sophie Williams scoring for Sunderland.
Lady Imps manager Rod Wilson said: "It puts us back in the race for the title.
"We must win all our league matches from now, but it's enough to put the pressure on Sunderland for the rest of their campaign after Christmas."
Lincoln Ladies begin their FA Cup campaign next Sunday, away at Loughborough Students from the Midland Combination League.
