England may have to face their final two Women's 2009 European Championships qualifiers without captain Faye White.
White has travelled with the squad for Sunday's game against the Czech Republic in Prague and next Thursday's meeting with Spain in Zamora.
The 30-year-old Arsenal defender has not played for her club this season and is struggling with a knee injury.
England Coach Hope Powell said: "We'll be monitoring Faye, if she misses out we've got good cover."
Everton's Lindsay Johnson would be White's likely replacement as England look to maintain their unbeaten qualifying record and go through automatically as group winners.
Ahead of what will be Group One's final two matches, Powell's team are level with Spain at the top of the table and two points ahead of the Czechs.
Avoiding defeat in both games would take them through to Euro 2009 in Finland, but Powell has said she will not be adopting a cautious approach.
"I've looked at all the permutations," she said, "but the simple thing is to go out for two wins and that's what we'll be doing.
"Hopefully the Czechs will come and attack us, which they never tried to do in our home game and that was very frustrating although we should still have won.
"Spain, in my opinion, are a better side than the Czech Republic and they know that beating us by a couple of goals will put them in pole position.
"They'll be up for it, especially with home advantage, but on our day we are a better team than them and we'll be going out to try and prove that."
