Forest not hosting Women's final

FA Women's Cup final

Nottingham Forest's City Ground will not host the Women's FA Cup final for the third successive year.

The club has withdrawn from the running as the Championship season finishes the day before the scheduled 2009 final.

Forest's Operations Manager Brandon Furse said: "We're delighted the FA were considering us to host the final again but logistically it's impossible.

"We don't feel we'd have time to prepare the ground for the Cup Final and reluctantly ruled ourselves out."

The City Ground staged the event for the first time in 2007 with a record crowd of 24,529 as Arsenal overcame Charlton 4-1.

Arsenal were the winners again in 2008 beating Leeds by the same score in front of a 24,582 crowd.
