Ashley Chambers signs permanent contract at York City
Ashley Chambers was released by Leicester City at the end of the season
York City have signed former Leicester City striker Ashley Chambers on a permanent contract.
The 21-year-old was on loan from the Championship side this season and played 26 times, scoring two goals.
"This is going to be a big season for York City and for Ashley, who is a major signing," boss Gary Mills said.
"He's done well and I am pleased that he has committed to playing for York. He will be an important piece in the jigsaw for us."
He added: "We had him on loan from Leicester City last season so he knows all about us."
In 2005 Chambers became the youngest ever player to appear in Leicester's first team at just 15 years and 203 days but was released from the Walkers Stadium earlier this month.
He has also represented England at age grades from Under-16, to Under-19 level.
