Gary Mills surprised at York City call-off

York City manager Gary Mills said he was surprised and disappointed that his side's home game against Fleetwood was postponed because of a frozen pitch.

The game was called off 90 minutes before kick-off after four inspections at Bootham Crescent.

Mills told BBC Radio York: "It's a big decision for the referee. It was touch and go to be fair.

"I didn't think there was any danger. They said there was an inspection. I'm disappointed, I've got to say."

He added: "I thought we'd play it. We were looking forward to it off the back of Saturday's result.

"But it's happened. There's no point in going on about it. It's another game we're going to have to fit in somewhere along the line."

Mills is now turning his attention to York's next game in the FA Cup third round at Bolton Wanderers.

"We get on now and our next game is Bolton and we've got a week to prepare," he said.
