York City have signed defender Shaun Pejic from Blue Square Premier rivals Wrexham on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old was released by the Robins at the of January and is eligible for Saturday's FA Trophy tie with Havant & Waterlooville.
Pejic trained with York this week and played in the reserve team's defeat at Grimsby on Wednesday.
The centre-half was with Wrexham for nine years and made more than 150 appearances in the Football League.
Pejic's father Mel also played professionally and his uncle Mike played in the same Stoke City side as former York and Wrexham manager Denis Smith.
