York City manager Colin Walker has praised his side for their second-half performance at Stafford Rangers in the Blue Square Premier on Tuesday.
York responded to their 6-1 defeat at Crawley at the weekend by beating the division's bottom side 4-0.
Walker told BBC Radio York: "I thought the first half was still a hangover from Saturday.
"But I thought the last 40 minutes of the second half was football that we've tried to play all season."
Walker added: "I know that the team that we played unfortunately are at the bottom of the league but we've got to do that to more teams and more regularly.
"Yes, it was only Stafford, I'm sure that will be thrown at us but you can only beat the team that is in front of you.
We've got to do it at home now and hopefully give the home crowd that type of performance

"I'm pleased for Richard Brodie, Martyn Woolford for getting on the scoresheet and Robbo [Mark Robinson] should have got on twice."
Walker also picked out 18-year-old striker Adam Boyes who made his first appearance for the first team when he came on from the bench.
"I thought he looked the part and that can only be good for York City football club."
The 4-0 scoreline was in complete contrast to the 6-1 defeat they suffered on Saturday and Walker said he could not explain what it was that had prompted such a different performance.
He said: "These players are not the players you saw on Saturday, we had a go at one or two different things to get them thinking, now we've got to kick on.
"We've got to do it at home now and hopefully give the home crowd that type of performance."
