Luke Freeman views a loan move from Arsenal to Yeovil Town as an important part of his football education.

The 18-year-old striker has joined the League One club until 31 December and says there is a chance he could stay for the whole season.

Freeman told BBC Radio Bristol: "I'm getting to an age where I want some first-team experience.

"I'd like to go back to Arsenal in December or the end of the season and maybe look to play in the first team."

He added: "I'm happy to be here, it's a nice town and stadium and everyone has been very welcoming."

Freeman is an England youth international who signed professional terms with the Gunners in April after scoring 16 goals in 24 appearances for the club's under-18 side.

He also netted once in 11 outings for the reserves and said: "I've trained with the first team a few times as well and it's all been good experience."

Arsenal signed Freeman from Gillingham, where he became the youngest player to appear in the FA Cup proper.

The Dartford-born teenager was aged 15 years and 233 days when he came on for the last seven minutes of the 2-1 defeat to Barnet in November, 2007.

Freeman joins former Arsenal club-mate Luke Ayling at Huish Park, where the teenage defender has just signed a two-year contract.
