Bowditch finished last season on loan at Brentford
Yeovil Town have completed the signing of former Ipswich striker Dean Bowditch on a one-year deal.
The 23-year-old had been on trial at Huish Park but agreed terms before scoring in Tuesday's 3-2 friendly win over Championship side Bristol City.
After the game, manager Terry Skiverton told BBC Somerset: "He was excellent, I've been pleased with what I've seen.
"He's a name that's been known but has never quite fulfilled his potential. I know the touch of brilliance he has."
Bowditch made his debut for Ipswich as a 16-year-old in March 2003, and became the youngest player to score a hat-trick for the club the following season.
But a series of injuries saw him drop out of first-team contention and spend time on loan at a number of clubs.
Skiverton added: "I feel we can get him fitter and sharper, he's got the quality and he'll score goals for Yeovil."
