Rodgers completes Yeovil switch

Yeovil have completed the signing of former Port Vale striker Luke Rodgers.

The 27-year-old scored two goals in six games for the Glovers in a loan spell earlier in the season and has agreed a deal until the end of the season.

Town are at the wrong end of League One, but Rodgers, who is keen to stay beyond the end of the campaign, expects the club to stay up.

"I wouldn't come if I didn't think they can stay up because I don't want to go down," he told BBC Radio Somerset.

The former Crewe forward had also been linked with a move to Northampton and Yeovil boss Russell Slade is delighted to have got his man.

"l'm really, really pleased he's arrived. Just to see him training with that enthusiasm that he's got was good to see," he said.

"His last couple of performances for us were excellent. He scored two goals, we felt as if we were really getting him close to full fitness and that was showing in his performances."

Rodgers was released from his contract with Vale last week.
