Luke Rodgers scored 20 goals in 66 appearances for Port Vale

Port Vale have terminated the contract of Luke Rodgers by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old striker, who joined the Valiants from Crewe in January 2007, had been on loan with League One side Yeovil since November.

Manager Dean Glover had previously indicated that having Rodgers off the wage bill would enable him to bring others players into Vale Park.

"Having Luke away at Yeovil helps me entice other players to the club," Glover told BBC Radio Stoke.
