Stewart has enjoyed a successful loan spell at Yeovil this term |
Striker Marcus Stewart has agreed to join Yeovil Town on an 18-month deal on 1 January, after the remainder of his Bristol City contract was terminated. He scored five goals in 13 games during a recent loan spell at Huish Park.
Stewart, 34, joined City from Sunderland in June 2005, and scored five goals in 29 appearances but has not played for them since March.
"We are disappointed that Marcus's stay with us did not work out," chairman Steve Lansdown told City's website.
Bristol-born Stewart grew up supporting City but began his career at local rivals Bristol Rovers before spells with Huddersfield, Ipswich and Sunderland.
He also had a loan spell at Preston last season after falling out of favour at Ashton Gate - and has scored a total of 183 league goals from 525 appearances.
