Stewart's last first-team action came in a loan spell at Preston |
Yeovil have signed Bristol City striker Marcus Stewart on a three-month loan. The former Sunderland man, 33, has been out of favour at City, making just 18 appearances since joining last summer.
"That's the way football is. Now hopefully I can start playing football and be happy in my head again," Stewart told BBC Radio Bristol.
Meanwhile, the Glovers have re-signed 26-year-old defender Anthony Tonkin, who began his career with the Glovers and was available after leaving Crewe.
Tonkin, who lives locally, had been training with the Glovers for the last few weeks.
Bristol City chairman Steve Lansdown has insisted that Stewart will not be allowed to play against his parent club when the two sides meet. "I think it's a sensible move for both Bristol City and for Marcus," Lansdown told BBC Radio Bristol.
"All players need to play and this gives him the opportunity to do it and show what he can do."
