Mark Ashton has been appointed the new chief executive at Wycombe Wanderers and joined the board of their tenants, rugby union side London Wasps.

The former Watford chief executive left the Hornets in January after four years at the club.

Wasps have reorganised their management under new owner Steve Hayes, who is also Wycombe's managing director.

Hayes said: "His appointment again strengthens the bond between London Wasps and Wycombe Wanderers."

Ashton said: "It's a big challenge but we know the ingredients are in place to take both clubs forward."
