McGleish spent two-and-a-half seasons in Northampton's colours |
Wycombe have signed Northampton striker Scott McGleish for an undisclosed fee. The 32-year-old scored 55 goals in 132 games for the Cobblers, and boss Stuart Gray told the club website: "In many ways, we're disappointed to lose Scott.
"He is our top scorer this season, but the deal is good for him and for the club, and we part on excellent terms.
"He has been offered a longer, improved contract at a club nearer his home - and it gives us the chance to bring in a player or two up front."
Barnet-born McGleish began his career at Edgware Town and has also played for Charlton, Leyton Orient (two spells), Peterborough, Colchester (two spells), Cambridge and Barnet before joining Northampton on a Bosman-style free transfer in the summer of 2004.
His arrival at Adams Park follows that of another forward, Simon Johnson from Darlington, who moved south for an undisclosed fee on Thursday.
