Carey hopes Wrexham are now looking ahead to brighter times |
Wrexham manager Brian Carey praised his team's spirit after the 2-0 win at Accrington Stanley lifted them out of the League Two drop zone. "I'm delighted that the players showed their true character and their true selves," Carey told BBC Sport Wales.
"I was especially pleased for Neil Roberts, the club means so much to him and he needed those two goals - he's a huge leader and a massive influence.
"I knew he'd come through - that's the type of character he is."

Carey admitted that Tuesday's 4-0 Racecourse hammering at the hands of Chesterfield had been difficult to take.
"We thought we'd turned the corner by beating Lincoln last Saturday, but then we really let ourselves down midweek," he said.
"There wasn't a lot to say after that - all you can do is be positive, get on with things, and continue to believe.
"You need big characters to avoid two bad results in a row. We've recovered well, but now we really have to build on this."
