Brian Carey has said sorry after their latest defeat |
Wrexham manager Brian Carey has apologised to supporters after his side's 4-0 defeat to Chesterfield on Tuesday night at the Racecourse ground. Carey and his side are now in the League Two relegation zone and are already facing up to another tough season.
And Carey has said sorry to the Wrexham fans who were understandably dismayed at their latest defeat.
"We didn't give ourselves a chance and I apologise to the fans," said Carey.

"Defensively it was awful and we gave them a three goal lead in 15 minutes.
"I thought we had turned the corner with the performance and the clean sheet on Saturday.
"I told the players to push on and take another step forward, but we've ended up taking two or three steps back."
Carey has singled out the senior players in his squad who he feels should be taking more responsibility on the pitch.
He said: "There is no getting away from it, and I'm not going to make excuses, the defending was schoolboy and the experienced players should be better at their job and they weren't.
"In the first half we were 3-0 down and credit to the lads to keep it together. We re-grouped at half-time and stuck to our task but the fourth goal finished us off."
Carey's position as manager is now coming under increasing pressure after their sixth defeat of the season.
But despite their plight, Carey believes he has the right players to take the club forward.
He said: "I've said it all along the buck stops with me.
"I will take the flack that comes with it and take it on the chin.
"I can understand the supporters frustration and I wouldn't want to support a team that is getting beaten three or four nil and again I can only apologise
"I think the players are good enough, and I think the squad is good enough to get higher up this league.
"I feel they can put some performances together and climb this league."
Wrexham next game is a tricky trip to Accrington Stanley, who themselves beat Bradford 3-0 on Tuesday night.
And Carey feels Friday's game will give his side a chance to bounce back.
He said: "We have to turn things around quickly and it is possibly a good thing that it comes around so soon."
