Foot problems have plagued McEvilly's time at Wrexham |
Wrexham manager Denis Smith says that Lee McEvilly's new foot injury is simply an "incredible" coincidence. The Northern Ireland striker, 24, saw a proposed move to Bradford fall through in June due to foot fitness concerns.
He has now broken the same bone in his foot that snapped twice during a four-month period last season.
"Lee passed a medical at Bradford and another when we re-signed him here, the problem was unforeseen, it's very odd that it's the same spot," said Smith.
"We're not sure how long he'll be out for but he's in great medical hands.

"He has a long career in front of him, we just have to make sure that he gets the best treatment."
Defender Lee Roche has broken a toe in his foot, but it is only expected to keep him out of action for around four weeks.
"I'm disappointed for the lads because both of them were also injured last year," Smith told BBC Sport Wales.
"The problems are bad news, but, unlike last year, it's something we can deal with.
"When we come out of administration we'll be able to bring in replacements without dealing with a host of different people.
"Injuries cost money and are a nuisance, but these things happen and you get on with it."
