Foster thanks to Wrexham's Smith
Ben Foster
Stoke keeper Ben Foster has dedicated his dream move to Manchester United to Wrexham manager Denis Smith.

The 22-year-old, set to complete a transfer worth 2.5m, impressed United manager Alex Ferguson when he was on loan at Wrexham last season.

Ferguson was in the Millennium Stadium crowd watching son Darren in Wrexham's LDV Vans final win over Southend, where Foster was man-of-the-match.

"Without doubt the move is all down to Denis Smith," said Foster.

"He took a chance on me last season without knowing too much about me and it all paid off for everyone in the end.

"I haven't managed to speak to Denis yet, but I'll be phoning him to say thank you in person."
