New cash crisis at Wrexham

Carey praised the way the team has put the cash problems aside
Wrexham captain and Professional Footballer's Association representative Brian Carey says the club's players have not received their December wages.

"We were supposed to get paid on Friday but it didn't come through so there were a lot of phone calls," said Carey.

"We're going to get paid Tuesday and could have demanded it on Friday, but it's not good publicity for the club."

The news follows a cash-flow problem at the Racecourse in November when only half the players' wages were paid.

Carey was keen to praise the way his team had responded to the adverse financial situation.

"All credit to the players for putting it behind them and doing the business on the field," Carey told BBC Sport Wales.

"There is a need for better communication all round from the club."
