Wolves winger Michael Kightly out for up to eight weeks
Kightly scored eight goals in Wolves' Championship-winning campaign
Michael Kightly faces up to eight weeks out of action after the Wolves winger was told he needs surgery on his ankle.
The 23-year-old was injured in the 1-0 defeat by Birmingham City on Sunday.
Manager Mick McCarthy told the official website: "The way he went over and rolled his ankle, apparently he's been quite lucky. It could have been worse.
"We've not seen Michael at his full potential yet. Sunday was the first time that we'd maybe seen that and then he picks up a new injury."
McCarthy added: "He was really down about it, but he's brightened up because it looks like being [only] six to eight weeks."
Kightly, an England Under-21 international, has been limited to just three Premier League starts for Wolves, after missing pre-season and the first month of the campaign because of hip and foot injuries.
Wolves, who are second from bottom in the Premier League, face Bolton at Molineux on Saturday.
