Milijas scored 37 league goals for Red Star Belgrade
Wolves' Serbian midfielder Nenad Milijas has the backing of boss Mick McCarthy as he settles in England.
Milijas has failed to catch the eye during the first three Premier League fixtures following his summer move.
"I wonder if he's ever been confronted like that in Serbia with three games of such intensity, playing for a promoted team," McCarthy told BBC WM.
"No - I know the answer to that - no he hasn't. He's been playing for Red Star Belgrade, one of the top teams."
Milijas, 26, has been playing behind a lone striker in recent games against West Ham, Wigan and Manchester City.
"I just think physically he's found it difficult, he's not used to it," McCarthy added.
"I moved to France and I found it not difficult, but different. You just don't settle straight away.
"He's a fantastic guy, he's settled within the area locally, he's well liked by everybody and hugely talented. I'm pleased with him."
Milijas may be rested from Tuesday's Carling Cup tie at home to Swindon as the former Republic of Ireland manager looks at squad midfielders David Jones and Andrew Surman.
