Elokobi happy to try out new role

Wolves defender George Elokobi says he is perfectly happy to experiment with the centre-half position.

Normally a left-back, the 22-year-old has been deployed in the centre of defence by his manager Mick McCarthy this summer.

"It will definitely take me a couple of games to get into my stride there," Elokobi told the club's website.

"I'm happy to play wherever the manager wants me to, and I will do a job for both myself and the team."

McCarthy may be spoiled for choice in the left back position should trialist Ian Harte join Elokobi and Michael Gray at Molineux.

"It's another string to the bow to have two positions and not necessarily to be classed just as a left back," Elokobi added after playing in the centre of defence against Motherwell.

"Of course he [McCarthy] was a centre half himself and we're going to have a chat about the game and he'll tell me what I did right and what I did wrong."
