Cards chairman Taylor stands down

David Taylor
Taylor wants to continue to help the club

David Taylor has resigned as Woking chairman with immediate effect.

Taylor always intended to stand down as soon as the club's shareholders were in a position to elect a new board.

He said: "That process is now taking longer than anticipated, and there are urgent additional actions that need to be driven forward.

"In light of these along with the need for new blood, my reducing available time and ongoing health pressures, I have decided to stand down."

"I pledge myself to the service of the club, the fans and the board in whatever capacity I can most be of help," he added.

Taylor revealed that the club's board have asked Shahid Azeem to be chairman and "to lead the club through to the new structure, and elections".
