Steven Reid thinks West Brom will bounce back from loss
Reid scored in the Carling Cup fourth round victory at Leicester
Steven Reid is confident that West Bromwich Albion will respond positively from their 2-1 defeat at Blackpool.
The Baggies played for more than an hour with nine men after Pablo Ibanez and Gonzalo Jara were sent off.
"We've got a never-say-die attitude," Reid told BBC WM. "We lost 6-0 at Chelsea and people were writing us off.
"We picked ourselves up after that result, we've got to brush this one under the carpet and look forward to Manchester City on Sunday."
A win at Bloomfield Road would have taken Albion into the top four in the Premier League.
However, their chances of victory were dented when Pablo was shown a red card for bringing down Blackpool striker DJ Campbell inside the area and Charlie Adam converted the resulting penalty.
Luke Varney added to Blackpool's lead in the second half, having earlier been the victim of a challenge that saw Jara sent off and Albion reduced to nine men after 29 minutes.
Youssouf Mulumbu scored to halve the deficit, but Roberto Di Matteo's side could not find an unlikely equaliser and were condemned to their third defeat of the season.
Reid, who came on as a substitute following Pablo's dismissal, continued: "I think we've got positives to take from the game.
"We showed great spirit, good character, we didn't let it affect us and in the end we're all devastated that we didn't nick a point.
"Going 2-0 down with nine men, you would think you were dead and buried, but Youssouf's scored a great goal, we've created a couple of good chances and we continued playing the way we do.
"At times we still played some decent football, even with nine men."
Albion remain in sixth position in the table, having taken 15 points from their first 10 games.
