West Bromwich Albion sign Steven Reid from Blackburn
Reid helped West Brom finish second in the Championship
West Brom have completed the signing of Blackburn midfielder Steven Reid on a two-year contract.
The Republic of Ireland international, 29, spent the last two months of the season on loan with the Baggies as they won promotion to the Premier League.
Reid had been in talks with Celtic after being released by Rovers but will now officially join Albion on 1 July.
Manager Roberto Di Matteo told the club website: "He made a big impact last year both on and off the field."
He added: "He was a consistent performer and also great in the dressing-room.
"Having spent the last six years or so in the Premier League he knows the division inside-out and that kind of experience could prove invaluable."
London-born Reid joined Blackburn from Millwall for £2.5m in 2003, but injury problems ruled him out of much of the 2006-07 season and the whole of 2008-09.
He was unable to force himself into Rovers manager Sam Allardyce's first team at Ewood Park on a regular basis this season and as well as being loaned to West Brom, also spent a brief spell with QPR.
