West Brom striker Ishmael Miller says he is taking his time over his second comeback from injury this season.
Miller picked up an ankle injury after five substitute appearances at the turn of the year - this after missing 13 months with a damaged knee.
"I don't want to put too much pressure on myself because I've done too much of that," the 22-year old told BBC WM.
"I'm trying to get fit for me right now, but if I can help the squad out it would be a great thing."
Miller played 70 minutes for the Baggies reserves at Walsall on Tuesday night as he closes in on a return to the first-team squad.
Recent signing Giles Barnes was also involved at the Banks's Stadium and he impressed the former Manchester City striker.
"He's a good player, a very, very good player," added Miller.
"I've never played with him before, but I've played against him many times when we were younger. He'll be a great addition to the squad."
Miller relocated to his home town Manchester during his long rehabilitation period so that he would be closer to his family and friends.
But he has no regrets about moving down to West Brom from Manchester City in the summer of 2007.

"Obviously it's propelled my career - the club's been great to me and the fans have been great to me since my very first day," he said.
"But City are doing very well at the moment, and hopefully they can keep on and get that fourth position."
Miller now has his sights on a place on the bench for the Baggies' Championship trip to Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.
