Ishmael Miller launches West Bromwich Albion comeback
Miller has scored 19 first team goals for the Baggies
West Brom forward Ishmael Miller has come through 45 minutes of reserve-team action as he continues his comeback from knee ligament surgery.
Miller has not played for Albion's first team since the home draw with Portsmouth 13 months ago.
But he came safely through the first half of a 4-1 behind-closed-doors game against Port Vale at The Hawthorns.
"That friendly was part of Ish's rehab, we wanted to get him on the pitch," said head coach Roberto di Matteo.
"He will need to play games, that's for sure - that's how you get your game rhythm and build up your fitness.
"We were looking to get him back in February but he looks quite good considering the injury he had - we'll just have to monitor him," he told the club website.
