West Bromwich Albion's Jara set to miss rest of season
Jara has made 26 appearances for Albion since joining from Colo Colo
West Bromwich Albion's Gonzalo Jara is expected to miss the rest of the season with a broken metatarsal.
The 24-year-old Chile international suffered the injury in Saturday's 2-2 FA Cup fifth round draw with Reading.
"It's really bad news for us regarding Gonzalo," Albion head coach Roberto di Matteo told the club's website.
"I don't think he will play again this season. He should recover in time for the World Cup, but he won't be playing in the next two-and-a-half months."
Jara moved to The Hawthorns from Chilean side Colo Colo for £1.4m in August 2009 after being spotted by Albion scout Tony Spearing while playing for Chile Under-23s at the 2008 Toulon tournament.
Di Matteo added that there have been no further developments in the Baggies' attempt to bring Wigan midfielder Jason Koumas back to The Hawthorns on loan.
"We work 24 hours, seven days a week to try and bring the right players in, but it's not easy," said the Italian.
"The emergency loan market is obviously a difficult market.
"The good players are difficult to get because they would be either playing or on the bench in their teams and the others you question whether they're good enough to make an impact for your team."
