Morrison joined West Brom from Middlesbrough in August 2007
West Brom midfielder James Morrison could miss the rest of the season with the heel injury that forced him to miss the win over Sunderland on Saturday.
The 22-year-old was forced to sit out the 3-0 victory at The Hawthorns but could yet be fit enough to play for the Baggies at Tottenham this weekend.
"The best case scenario is he feels fine and has a chance for the weekend," boss Tony Mowbray told BBC WM.
"The worst case scenario is he isn't fine and it could be weeks and weeks."
Morrison, who joined Albion from Middlesbrough in August 2007, has made 30 appearances in the Premier League this season.
"He's been on antibiotics and they have basically done the job," added Mowbray.
"The medical people might need to go in and scrape some of the dead skin away. If that's the case then he'll need a period of recuperation.
"It's not an operation. It's just a procedure to remove dead skin. Let's wait and see."
Meanwhile, defender Abdoulaye Meite is likely to miss at least some of Albion's run in with a hamstring injury sustained in the defeat of the Black Cats.
"I think Meite has a minor hamstring strain," said Mowbray.
"We'll see whether it's a two-week thing or eight weeks.
"Abou's not happy that he's not been fit all season. It's not ideal for me or the team."
