Watford defender Adrian Mariappa believes Saturday's 6-1 humbling of Millwall sums up his side's new-found confidence on their travels.
The defender, 23, was on the score sheet as the Hornets continue to put last season's away form behind them.
He told BBC Three Counties Radio: "The experiences we had last year on the road, we had to learn from it and that's what we've done.
"We're confident going away, even to intimidating places and big grounds."
Malky Mackay's men picked up just 18 of their 54 Championship points away from Vicarage Road last term, a stark contrast to the current campaign which has already seen them win three on the road.
"We've taken what we weren't so good at last year on the road and worked on it and it's coming together this season," Mariappa added.
"I don't think anyone expects to come to Millwall scoring six goals but we performed really well and it's tremendous for the lads."
