Shroot (right) made his debut in Blues' FA Cup defeat by Wolves
Walsall have signed Birmingham City's Robin Shroot on a month's loan.
Shroot is a Northern Ireland Under-21 international and joined Blues in January from non-league side Harrow.
Saddlers boss Chris Hutchings was pleased with the arrival of the 20-year-old midfielder, who made his debut in Blues' FA Cup defeat to Wolves.
"We are delighted to have Robin on board. He was mentioned to me when he was at Harrow where he had shown a lot of promise," Hutchings said.
Shroot's deal at The Banks's Stadium will last an initial four weeks and he is set for his Saddlers debut at Southend on Saturday.
And with Walsall on their best run of the season - currently six games unbeaten - Hutchings thinks Shroot will come in handy.
"He can play on both sides of the pitch, so he will give us a few options," he said.
"The team are improving but it is important to enhance the squad even when we are doing reasonably well. We are grateful to Alex McLeish for allowing him to come here."
