Blue Square Premier newcomers AFC Wimbledon have agreed new contracts with Sam Hatton and Chris Hussey.

Defender Hussey, 20, has spent the last two years with the Dons, picking up the young player of the year award in 2008.

Midfielder Hatton, 21, joined Wimbledon in 2007 having begun his career at Stevenage Borough.

Manager Terry Brown said: "They fit the profile of the type of player we are targeting and I'm expecting great things of them this season."

Meanwhile, the club have also confirmed that trialist Callum Morrissen will not be joining the Dons.

Brown told the club's website: "We were very impressed with Callum although he is clearly not fit yet. We started to discuss how he could get himself fit so that we could give him a definite 'yes' or 'no' but he gradually realised that the practicalities of joining us would put too much of a strain on his personal circumstances.

"So, with reluctance, we have mutually agreed to call off our discussions. Callum is a talented lad and we'll be recommending him to a club nearer the Isle of Man."

Brown is still hoping to sign another striker, but admits he may not be able to bring the player to the club before Saturday's season opener at home to Luton Town.
