Tranmere forward Adam McGurk says Rovers have the fight and desire to survive in League One after Saturday's 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.
McGurk's 94th minute winner moved them four points clear of the drop zone.
"Everybody has a fighting spirit at the club and you just have to keep going and that's what we did," the 22-year-old told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"That's what we're going to continue doing and hopefully we can get on a winning streak and finally get safe."
McGurk's strike against the Cherries at the weekend was his first senior goal in the football league, but he admits he can't take all the credit for the three points gained at Dean Court.
"It was a good strike to be fair, but I don't want to take too many of the plaudits," continued the former Northern Ireland Under-21 international.
"What the boys did before I came on was unbelievable and you could see how hard they were working. I got lucky, I was in the right position and it finally went in.
"The last couple of games I've had a couple of chances and I've been frustrated. I've been doing a little bit of work with [first team coach] Dave Lowe on my finishing.
"Luckily all those hours on the training field have paid off."
