Tranmere Rovers have signed Sunderland midfielder Robbie Weir on loan until the end of the season.
Weir, 22, who has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Black Cats, has recently spent time on loan at Blue Square Bet Premier side York City.
Tranmere boss Les Parry told the club website: "I'm really pleased Robbie has joined us. He'll bring us that extra bit of quality."
Weir could make his debut on Tuesday against Sheffield Wednesday.
